Trick or Treat Street
Knock a door. Candy stars, or a silly scare!
What the kid is doing
Knock a door, say the word, and hunt candy stars!
How to play
- Three doors each show a word picture. Say the word, or say “Trick or treat” plus the word! Then tap the door the kid picked.
- Your monster walks up and knocks. Most doors open with candy worth 10 stars, and he says thank you!
- Sometimes a silly scare pops out instead and he yells Ahh! A ghost in goofy sunglasses yells BOO!, a skeleton plays his ribs, or dizzy bats bonk the doorframe. That is not a miss. New pictures pop up either way.
- Tip: turn the iPad sideways so all three doors sit in a row.
Where the speech practice fits
Prompt cards never open on their own. The therapist taps Targets on the right rail whenever they want one, and the card deals that student's target words, each with its own picture, at word, phrase, or sentence level. Browse the free word lists to see the decks.
